Description
Quails are small, plump, ground-dwelling game birds in the pheasant family, known for their rapid, low-altitude flight and distinctive “pick-per-wick” calls. They are highly productive, reaching maturity quickly and laying eggs by 15–30 days after hatching, making them popular in farming. These birds prefer dense cover, eat seeds and insects, and are often kept for their meat and eggs.
