Description
Emu chicks are the young of the Australian emu, known for their distinctive black-and-tan stripes, which provide camouflage. They hatch after a 54–56 day incubation period by the male, weighing roughly 1.2–1.5 lbs. Chicks require a warm, dry, draft-free brooder (starting at 90°F) for 4–8 weeks.
